Student Built House to be Raffled Off!!

It's been a long process, but the Student-Built house is now a reality.  The Student-Built house was finished this spring and we have decided to raffle off the house.  See the article under Student-Built House for more information. This house has provided hands-on experience for students as well as offering career exploration opportunities. The students gain experience in learning the trades of excavating, foundation work, framing, plumbing, electrical and finish carpentry just to name a few.

Wade Hoyt of Hoyt Homes, Inc. subordinated a lot in his Streamside Subdivision on the corner of Grove Street and Roderick Way. The project is financed through Farmer's State Bank. Copies of plans are available through the MBIA office. Mike Nichols of Tamarack Construction Company and Jim Schafer of StraightEdge Construction are the builder co-chairmen of the project and Wade Hoyt is the project manager.

The Building Futures committee members all worked hard on this project.  The committee members include Michelle Felde, First Security Bank, chair; Mike Nichols, Tamarack Construction, co-chair; Jim Schafer, Straightedge Construction, co-chair; Alan Fugleberg, Associate Dean of the UM College of Technology; Lynn Stocking, Associate Dean of the UM College of Technology; Lynn McNamer, Interstate Alarm Company; Wade Hoyt, Hoyt Homes, Inc.; Carrie Hall, Hoyt Homes, Inc.; Lisa Beczkiewicz, The Missoula Flagship Program; Rosie Buzzas, The Missoula Flagship Program; and Kathy Minster, The Missoula Building Industry Association.  A special thanks goes to Kim Zupan and David Neu from the College of Technology Carpentry Program for their help and supervision of the students.

We would like to thank the following business for donating their services and products to build this house:
